Privacy Policy

DomainSifter is run by an individual based in Estonia (the “operator”). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under GDPR and Estonian law.

What we collect

Newsletter email addresses. If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect your email address and the date you subscribed.

Standard server logs. Cloudflare (our hosting provider) automatically logs requests to our website, including IP addresses, browser type, referrer URLs, and timestamps. We don't access these logs unless investigating abuse or technical issues.

That's it. We don't use cookies for tracking, we don't run analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.), we don't collect names, addresses, or any other personal information.

How we use it

Email addresses are used to send the DomainSifter newsletter — that's the only purpose. We don't sell, share, or use them for any other communication.

Server logs are used by Cloudflare for routine operations (rate limiting, abuse prevention) and by us if we need to debug technical problems.

Who we share data with

We use these third-party services (sub-processors) to operate the site:

• Buttondown (newsletter delivery) — receives your email address to send you the newsletter.
• Postmark (Buttondown's email infrastructure) — handles the actual email sending.
• Cloudflare (hosting, DNS, email routing) — handles all incoming requests to the website.
• Brevo (outbound email for hello@domainsifter.com) — used only if we reply to emails you send us.

Each of these is GDPR-compliant. We never share your data with anyone else.

Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to:

• Access the data we have about you (just your email address, if you're a subscriber)
• Delete your data — unsubscribe from the newsletter and your email is removed
• Export your data
• Object to processing
• Lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon, https://www.aki.ee)

Cookies

We don't use cookies. The site is fully static and doesn't require them to function.

Children's data

DomainSifter is not directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be communicated via the newsletter to existing subscribers.
